On Friday July 30th 2010 the company (NetPlus Marketing) I work for had a GeoCaching event which i really didn’t think much of at the time. But once we got started it took me back to my boy scout days. Yes i was a boy scout you have a problem with it? Just kidding.
Anyway using a GPS device you got coordinates and a clue like “Turf” and you had to find a fake turf which had a geocache. So what is GeoCache
“Geocaching is a high-tech treasure hunting game played throughout the world by adventure seekers equipped with GPS devices. The basic idea is to locate hidden containers, called geocaches, outdoors and then share your experiences online. Geocaching is enjoyed by people from all age groups, with a strong sense of community and support for the environment.”
So after the company event I went to http://www.geocaching.com/ and learned a little more about it and checked out where some GeoCahces were around me. There were about 15 within 2 miles of my house. So i signed up and created an account.
I will be posting my adventures in geocaching here…now where to start…
